Lets have it real, Deontay Wilder is a glorified bum.

Our friend Dwyer reckons Bryant Jennings is the best US heavyweight at the moment.

I don't know about Wilder because he hasn't fought anyone. As long as that remains the case, he remains unproven.

Some people say Liakhovich was a step up, others said he was years past his best.

The biggest knocks against Deontay Wilder are his weak resume, questionable chin, because he's never been hit hard to see how well he can take a punch and his stamina since he has never fought more than four rounds in order to test it. Other than that, he is still the biggest puncher in the Heavyweight division today even as we speak.

Can Wilder even got past 6 rounds without gassing?

At the mo I think Wilder is Price level

Like LL said you can be the biggest puncher in the game, but you meet guys who can take punches and give them back, thus they don't care about ur power and that's when we see how really good u are.

I don't see why not. He obviously prepares in a topnotch way. He fights conservative behind the jab, looking for the right. His style (what little we have seen) tells me he can easily go 12 rds.

he may be but he's got some power that will keep people interested. He's like the USA's version of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for now.

                  No matter how he prepares

You cant train for 6 rounds and over without going 6 rounds in the ring.

These 1 round KO's against over the hill bums are not going to help him build his stamina nor psychologically prepare him to go the distance

David Price was doing the same stuff until they threw him in the ring against TT.

Fury, a technician? We are talking about the guy who almost knocked himself out and almost KO'ed by little Steve Cunningham. You have to be joking.

Technique is about the same, without that bomb of a right hand!

To call Wilder a "bum" is rather absurd to be honest. What have we seen that equates Wilder to being a "bum?"

Let's take a quick look at some of his attributes:

He's a got great size standing at 6'7'' and has a long reach as well. He's athletic, ripped, strong and doesn't have an ounce of fat on his body i.e he's in tip top fighting shape.

He's got tremendous punching power. Sure, he's fought a long list of tomato cans but you can see by the knockouts that his power is devastating.

He's got decent handspeed. I noticed his quick hands during the Liahovich fight up to knockout. There was a couple exchanges where his handspeed was quite apparent.

Lastly, Wilder's got that "killer instinct" that so many heavyweights, and fighters, today lack. He reminds me of a young George Foreman - a guy who fought with a 'chip on his shoulder' and really wanted to put a hurtin' on his opponent. Wilder has that quality - he wants to land his huge shots and get the KO.

I then ask - "are these the attributes of a bum?"
