Deontay Wilder destroys Sergei Liakhovich in 1st round KO

Unbeaten heavyweight talent Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KO’s) scored his 29th straight KO win with a 1st round knockout win over former WBO heavyweight champion Sergei Liakhovich (25-6, 16 KO’s) on Friday night at the Fantasy Springs Casino, in Indio, California, USA.

The 6’7″ Deontay nailed Liakhovich with a big right hand that drove him backwards from the force of the sledgehammer blow. Deontay added another right hand, and then put the coup de grace with a tremendous right hand to the head that sent Liakhovich down on the canvas. Liakhovich stayed down for a long time before getting up.

After Liakhovich hit the canvas, he laid on the canvas kicking his legs in the air in a knockout spasm. He was seriously hurt from the last right hand to the head that he took.

No one has ever knocked Liakhovich out like that before during his career.

In winning the fight, Deontay keeps his WBC Continental Americas heavyweight title.
