They could have fought in a non-title fight. I'm sure Pirog wouldn't have objected to keeping his belt win or lose. The fact of the matter is that Lou DiBella used a laundry list of weak excuses which didn't even include this one. They should have fought, it was the best fight at 160 at the time.You can't be a titleholder and be a mandatory to another titleholder from a different sanctioning body.
In other news it's funny how the WBC supposedly doesn't allow unifications but still allows some fighters to hold more than one sanctioning belt.
Ex: Garcia (WBA/WBC) and Canelo(WBA/WBC), but not Andre Ward(WBA)/(WBC stripped).Comment
