He lost momentum cause he couldn't get any decent opportunities. The old HBO regime had pretty much blacklisted him for taking out Jacobs. Things have really changed at HBO, especially wrt MW division, so he'd now get all kinds of opportunities he didn't before. Greenburg wouldn't have touched GGG with a 10 foot pole, for exampleComment

I agree to an extent, the old regime didn't do much for him, but I still don't see why he go hyped so much for beating Danny Jacobs. Decent win, but he was like some world beater who was getting ducked after that. Hershman gave him a good opportunity against GGG, but unfortunately he couldn't take it with his injury. Hopefully he can come back, but I doubt it.He lost momentum cause he couldn't get any decent opportunities. The old HBO regime had pretty much blacklisted him for taking out Jacobs. Not sure, to my knowledge Kid Chocolate is still looking for an opponent and I think Danny Jacobs is healthy.Comment

True, Jacobs was not even top 10, but he was everybody's prospect of the year. And people were impressed with Pirog's style. But the main reason is that at the time there was no proven talent at MW besides Sergio, and he looked like the most interesting challenger. For sure more than Dzin, Macklin or Barker.I agree to an extent, the old regime didn't do much for him, but I still don't see why he go hyped so much for beating Danny Jacobs.
