So the excuse for this fight is to "test his hands"? You people realize you can test your hands in ****ing sparring right? Lamest excuse ever to fight a bum.

russel jr probably spars with 16 oz gloves. that's 2x the size of his pro fight gloves. he's a baby sized guy. tiny arms, little hands, not the type of frame that will move up much beyond FW. there's a big difference between his 16 oz sparring gloves and an opponent with headgear, and his 8 oz pro fight gloves.


is this still lame? yes. russel jr should be doing this off of television as far as i am concerned. i want to see tought fights for prospects on showbox. this guy is beyond the prospect stage, and he's on showbox fighting a stiff.

Yeah but he can still spar with smaller gloves to "test out his hands" rather than fight a guy who's lost his last 9 out of ten, u know what I mean? I'm sure if his hands were bugging him he wouldn't be fighting at all, landing hard flush shots on a scull aren't going to make his hands any better.
