Dawson was fighting 7 lbs south of his weight class, and hadn't been close to 168 like like 6-7 years.
Yet another debate we've already had maybe one day we'll agree on something.

It can't be a good win, it'd be like Floyd fighting Canelo at 147 or some s**t. Canelo would be fighting somewhere he'd have to kill himself to make again, since he hadn't been there in so long.

My p4p list has Floyd at the top. Ward #2.

Dawson didn't look or act drained until Ward caught him with a perfect counter and put him on his ass. Then all of the sudden, he was drained. He knew what he was in with and fought scared until Ward made him quit. Even if you think he was drained, it's STILL better than Guerrero at WW, that's almost a tune up level fight for a fighter of Floyd's caliber.

But Floyd's also beaten Cotto, who I've always said is a good fighter but got overhyped, and picked up another solid win over a Top 5 WW in Guerrero.

I don't rate Ward beating Dawson, at all. And I'm a major Andre Ward fan.

And once Floyd takes care of Canelo, it won't even be a discussion in my opinion.

Ward needs to get on the good foot, because he's wasted his last 2 years basically. Get up to 175 and fight Stevenson.

Our opinions of Cotto obviously differ, good win for Floyd, but I thought he had himself a tough night in the ring with another great fighter.

I do agree, if Floyd beats Canelo and becomes lineal JMW champ, he passes Ward, another reason I put September deadline for Ward. He does need to move up, there really isn't anything at 168 that's worth staying for legacy wise.

It's fine I guess. A little piece of me died voting for Ward though.

When you look at Ward's run from 2009-2011, you realize "Damn, this is the next great fighter of his era", and I still think he is. Since Froch, he hasn't done jack s**t worth rating.

Had he fought Dawson even at something like 172, I'd give him credit. But Dawson whether or not he said he'd be fine there was still drained. Dawson being ****** and agreeing to it doesn't change reality of him being completely drained.

In your eyes, he looked drained. He looked to me like a guy who realized he was fighting someone way out of his league skill wise. Did 168 help? No, but weight isn't why he lost.

Then Mayweather deserves 0 credit for Marquez at WW, he looked slow and bulky, regardless of the obvious skill defecit he was at and how he looked against Pacquiao there in subsequent fights.

Since Froch, Floyd has beaten Cotto and Guerrero. Guerrero isn't even a true WW, about the level of JSK. Also in your opinion, you've said Cotto is an overrated good fighter, that gave Floyd hell. That's not a good look.
