Is Cotto fighting Rodriguez at 154 or 147? And after this fight, is he still coming back down to 147?

as far as the fight, i used to think that cotto takes this ... i'm leaning with the sentiment that jmm takes him out late, not a KO or TKO but just outworks him over the long run. jmm, technically, is a LOT better than cotto is.

          Cotto's a sucker for uppercuts

JMM is a sucker for left hooks

Only one man was able to put Cotto on his ass in a fight (not counting the pushing that Torres did) whereas, smaller, less stronger guys have repeatedly put JMM on his ass with a left. I can see JMM tasting the canvas a few times; giving Cotto enough points in the bank for a UD

I really don't like this fight because it's two of my favorite fighters and most of all I never really put full emphasis on imaging Lil' ol' Marquez fighting Cotto one day. It's almost as if Marquez has the style to beat allot of guys but I never imagined him fighting a full pledged ex WW who has touched JR MW waters before also. It's almost an ugly clash of styles yet a surprise can be in stored I'm at the 50/50 mark giving Marquez a hint edge.

I gotta see how they look in there upcoming fights to be a better judge. But size is a bit of a factor when it really comes to this fight alas Cotto having good boxing skills.

I honestly think the rehydration clause was I response to arguing older testing. Like baya said, someone a vulnerable and worth as much money as Cotto is hard to turn down.

He seems to fade after 8-9 and I feel hes lost a step.

I just see Marquez grinding him down.

8 maybe 10 I feel Cotto would perhaps nick it but in a 12 rounder I've gotta go with Marquez.

Hes a bit wrong for Cotto. I can just see him roping Cotto in and teeing off on him something awful, I just don't think he can miss the uppercut here. Little half-step back & hes really going to tee off. Cotto shows when hes hurt & feeling it and Marquez is a finisher and will sense that.
Not sure about Cotto against volume & counterpunchers as well combination punchers.

I think myself Cotto is better with Diaz in his corner (is it Diaz?) he just looks that bit sharper & crisper and seemed to box more intelligently & use his jab to great effect.
Totally agree on the uppercuts and if he hurts Cotto, Miguel hasn't shown anything like Marquez's recuperative ability, he slows down massively when hurt. But I've also stated before, I think Cotto's chin is MASSIVELY underrated. Marquez can punch, but I feel Cotto can take his fastball a few times.

Cotto's stamina, especially if it's at 147 or even 150 CW, has to be a question mark also. I do like how Cotto fought under Diaz, but sometimes he was too passive and Diaz put a lot of emphasis on scoring and moving, something that he can do, but isn't really his best look IMO. He can box, but he needs to stand his ground and slug it out at times too.

Would be a great fight and I really hope it happens next.

i think you meant "isn't" juicing. if so, i mean, what evidence do we have that cotto never juiced? but alas, questions have never swirled around mig's camp about ped's or any of that and cotto's never been associated with a proven cheater like memo which resulted in his looking like the hulk, either.
