No they are not , they don't enhance you they hurt your performance , people only use them in boxing when they cant make weight and even though they can mask PEDS people don't use them that way close to an event because of the problems they cause in performance , off course its sport relative like they wont hurt a runner like they will a fighter .

Yes, clearly. Besides being used as a masking agent, one only need see how successful Chavez Jr. is at 160 because of his size. He's only making that weight with diuretics.

You assume so much , you can replicate Diuretics using salt in a certain way .

To approach even a fraction of the effects of a diuretic you would have to approach the median lethal dose of salt.

Also Diuretics used a masking agent are likely to be used as close to an event as possible if they feel they can get away with it in order to mask any other illegal PEDS come test day.

I wouldn't be surprised if Diuretics were widely used in boxing (in fact I'm sure they are), there are plenty of other sports that use Diuretics for a competitive edge. The womens 200m Olympic champion Campbell Brown was banned for testing positive for a DIuretics, as was Tour de France rider Frank Schleck. There is clearly some postive effect they are getting out of it in order to be using it.
