So what is Vitale biggest win?

I voted for Vitali mainly due to his longevity. He came back after a 4 year layoff at the age of 37 and still looked great. Cotto has the better resume, but he was already out of his prime at age 30.

          Tough call but......

I think Vitali is def an ATG but as far as who i think will be looked at in the future I would have to go with Miguel. Only becasue i feel Vitali was a victim of his ERA. there werent enough ATG to challenge Klitchko bros after Lewis was done. Where as Cotto (even though he lost to a few people) they were MAyweather, and PAcwho are arguably going to be in the top 10 p4p all time. And Cotto has defeated a bunch of former World Champs.

But there are two points that also must be made here.

1- If the fight had gone on.. the most likely outcome is a brutal career ending stoppage from Lewis.. Neither fighter dominated the fight.. but Lewis was clearly at a big advantage with Vitali going blind.

2- That was a old, unmotivated, out of shape 257 Pound Lewis. Prime Lewis is heavily favored against any version of Vitali.
Why don't you learn something before you show how little you actually know about what you're talking.

Klitschko had a cut across the fleshy part of his EYEBROW, in no way intefering with his sight. NO swelling, and the bleeding was quickly controlled. Even if you had bad cataracts in both eyes, any one of even the photo-shopped pictures always trotted out by Klitschko-haters would show this. The doctor who stopped the fight, had, by next day made three different excuses (each of them wrong) as to why he stopped the fight. One beauty was that "I asked him to look up and it seemed to me that he couldn't open his eyelid......" (at the time the dr. was standing within inches of Klitschko whose eyes were at about the dr's navel level-he didn't look up).

And Lewis was done, and Klitschko knew it, which was why he was so distraught when he finally understood the fight had been stopped. He's been robbed of the Heavyweight Title. The guy hardly knew a word of English at that time, and had no idea what the doctor was asking him, especially with the huge uproar from the crowd and in his corner. I think I heard three different languages at the same time.

Klitschko has beaten 7 present or past title holders. Anyway I say that Klitschko is a greater boxing figure than Cotto, not because of any opponent roster etc. but because he has been so dominant and destructive (except lately) of his opponents. If they win a round, they think it's an achievement.

As a side-note, there was a famous lady tennis player in the 1920's who was so much better than anyone else in the world that her very best opponents would think it wonderful if they scored a point, and particularly a game, never mind a set. She was unbeaten throughout her whole career except one time in her first Grand Slam finals at age 14 in her 3rd year after she first saw a tennis racquet.

Klitschko is not nearly at that level, but I was remarking on the coincidence of opponents winning a round (or point).

This was a really tough choice for me. I have total respect for The Gatekeeper, but Vitali and Wlad have had a stranglehold on the Heavyweight division for a long time, albeit weak.

It's like Vitali gets sympathy for fighting as a HW in an especially weak era. Greatness is about beating the best, period.
