According to all the comments the other day it's like me and JMM are the only ones that figured out Pac was trying to bait him, lol. JMM just wants to keep that conclusive image of the KO to represent the series they had. He wants that to be what people remember over the previous fights. Pac got greedy in the fight and it cost him. Pac wanted the fight to end in KO and was looking for the KO and it came....from the other side.
Comments Thread For: Marquez To Manny Pacquiao: That Was No Lucky Shot!

I am a Pacquiao Fan But
I am also a realist. Manny has a bad habit of over committing and becoming overly aggressive. Unfortunately this worked against him in his 4th fight with Marquez. Manny left the door open and Marquez slammed it shut. That punch would have most likely taken out anyone hit with it. Marquez did what needed to be done and my hat's off to him for that. Manny will always have a strong fan base because you get your money's worth watching him fight. That punch had all of the elements required for a knockout written all over it. It had timing, power, technique, and also the fact that Pacquiao was charging into Marquez. The fact that Pacquiao was moving in multiplied the force of the punch. That punch was a great shot and not lucky.Comment

the thing about this, is it opens up doors for everything to be suspect.
So now can I take away all of Mannys kos and say they were luck?Comment

Pacquiao was doing what he did in every one of their fights, it was JMM that changed the gameplan. He swapped speed for power, he was more patient and willing to take punches to draw Pacquiao in and land that perfect shot. Pacquiao looked better in that fight because JMM changed not Pacquiao.Comment

He gave him rematches because he knew he didn't deserve the wins he got. He and his trainer even admitted that after fight 3. I respect Marquez for sticking to his guns and moving on. He is leaving on a high note, and it isn't like he is saying Manny isn't on his level, or being disrespectful, but why risk getting robbed, getting knocked out, or legitimately losing a 5th fight when you have fought so hard and been through so much to earn this victory?
However I would be all for a 5th fight, and those who say there is no reason for it are being silly. All 4 were WARS. All 4 were CLOSE until they ended. Who doesn't like to see good, meaningful fights, CLOSE fights? And fights with potential to end in KO?
Having said all of that.. If I was in Marquez' position, I would fight Pacman again and CASH OUT! But props to him.Comment

Say no to drugs....
You must be on some powerful stuff to call Marquez a coward. .. But regardless of what you call him nothing he did in their previous fights says he's a coward. If anything he's a warrior for continuing to fight a guy the judges seem to favor. But coward he's not, winner he is, the man who hit Manny so hard it has him talking let a ******.Manny calling that punch lucky makes me think they should have kept him in the ICU ward a bit longer. Dude got KTFO cold........ That knock out ranks up there with Thomas "The Hitman" Hearns greatest knock outs. As a matter if fact I'm signing off to go watch it again..... HahahahahahahahahaComment

Are you serious? 4 fights! 4!!!! He draws in 1, gets robbed in the next 2 and KTFO Pacquiao in the 4th. What else is there to see?
Marquez is on to bigger and better things. Good for him, he deserves it.Last edited by Gary Coleman; 08-06-2013, 10:40 AM.Comment
