I'm not trying to hear nothing you guys have to say concerning this matter because I've read soooo many posts on boxingscene about Danny being scared, shook and nervous to see Matthysse but now Matthysse is the one not showing up to the press conferences to see Garcia? They are not May and Canelo so it would be good just to reach out to some people but he said no? I thought this guy was a machine beast? How could a 3 city tour take away any of his physical attributes or advantages? I thought he said Danny Garcia was not a problem?

That tour will take a week off from his training camp. Yea he can find a gym in any city but it takes away from a fighters rhythm. He also has to fly thousands of miles to and from the US and things like jet lag and stuff can get you off that rhythm. When was the last time there was a press tour a month out from a big fight? C'mon son, This is boxing, not freakin wrestling. He's actually going to fight his son but he's scared of his dad???
All this talk of either being scared is silly because they are going to fight. It'll be interesting to hear Lucas' side of it, but its really not a neccessary trip. The fight is already sold out.Comment

Angel Garcia has good mental strategies to throw opponents off. that should not be taking lightly. Again, Manny Pacquiao bounces back and forth from the Philippines to the USA frequently but he does it with a smile and consistently like other fighters/boxers from across the waters. Matthysse has to fly 1000's of miles to come fight so what's the difference? How will this affect Matthysse performance? A week out of his life destroys everything he build up? Over analyzing? Basically you guys are saying that he didn't want to do the press tour because he only has 5 weeks left until the fight and needs to use every second of the day to train. Seems like he needs to put everything into a guy that his fans say he can dismantle easily. Guess Matthysse is not taking Danny as someone he will beat easily like his fans claim he will.Comment

This move by Matthysse's team (don't believe for a second that Lucas Matthysse makes decisions like this) is directed more at Angel Garcia than Danny. What better way to get under the skin of the opposing trainer who is known as a mind-games, trash talker than to not even show up to give him an opportunity.
Good call. It says absolutely nothing about Matthysse's courage or willingness to fight Danny Garcia. Anyone saying that is completely clueless.Comment
