You can't just boil it down so simplistically.

fight got signed late in part because there was no east coast venue available for a fight of this magnitude. SO it got put on the my/canelo card but GBP was gonna giv it a press tour because other than may/canelo its the most anticipated fight of 2013. Its like you are implying GBP is setting him up or doing this to give dnny an advantage, com on.

If lucas agreed to do it than he should do it. Period.

I Lucas refuses to train I'm good with that decision. The problem for me and others is the way you and other posters are taking the time to think about valid reasons and post them-because if the situation was reversed the same standards and thought processes wouldn't exist.

Danny's probably relieved he doesn't have to see Matthysse until September. The Garcia camp $ht their pants whenever Lucas is in the building. When Lucas ko'd Peterson you could see every potential Matthysse opponent ( Kahn, Bronner, Garcia) sitting ringside hearts stop. You can even see Garcia's boy grab his head like "****, Danny's gonna have to fight this dude"

a press tour is a multi-city tour organized by the fight's promoter to market an upcoming fight. the fighters, trainers and promoter discuss the fights and answer questions for media. they usually last a week or so.

they are scheduled ahead of training camp so each fighter can train for the fight without having to travel

they are doing it to help danny and lucas expand their name and because they would've given them a tour if they fought separately.

I mean are you suggestinmg doing that, regardless of timing, is a bad thing?

I'm not ignoring the timing aspect, you and others are making it into a conspiracy when it isn't. not wanting to risk training camp time is valid reason. but Lucas could've announced this the day the tour was announced. He knew he'd be in camp then right?
