I'll bet all the "Gimme a break" type people who discount Stevens chance won't put their money up. I'll put up 30 bucks to anyone's 500 bucks and if someone is so damn certain, they don't have a problem winning 30 bucks. I bet no one takes it because they know ANYTHING can happen in that ring. Imagine how much money I would have made if I offered that for the Dawson Stevenson fight! Next time someone gives a fighter no chance to win, THINK first. Sure I favor GGG but if there is a 10-1 odds, that will be hard to pass up. No one knows how GGG's chin would react to being hit with a sledgehammer.

Now I remember. "Chin Checkers" they were called. Codrington nearly got killed against Green.

[QUOTE=Derranged;13618296]Is that the guy who was a bit short for his weight class, used to fight a lot on Broadway Boxing as a hot prospect but never really went anywhere after getting stopped in a fight ?QUOTE]Yeah that's what they said about Stevenson after he was stopped by Darnell Boone. Guess what happened to Stevenson? He torched a guy who was supposedly not on his level. Anything can happen in Boxing.

Nobody has a problem with that fight if there's nothing better around. But if it goes as expected, you might not hear of Stevens again and won't be the resume boosting win that he needs now. If there is one, take that, if not, Stevens or Mora will do. In any case, you saw last night that it was Stevens' promoter and trainer putting the damper on it, not Team GGG.

It's be a while since I lived in a world of the expected. Nothing surprises me anymore. Not since before Buster Douglas stopped Mike Tyson and the tons of fights since then that were boxing upsets.....maybe not as big as that one but some real shockers. Very similar to what people were saying before the Dawson/Stevenson fight. The only think that would shock me now is if I woke up with my forehead crazy glued to the carpet and my toenails painted pink.

Your right,,, they were all hyped 04-05 but then allan green brutalized jaidon in 30 secs,, then it all fell apart,,,

stevens was just to small to compete at the top level at SMW,,

im glad that he moved down,,,

he is legit puncher,,, nowhere near GGG level but at this point, its a great stay busy fight for GGG till he can land a murray/serg/geale etc fight..

nobody has really touched GGG chin so stevens would be a great test in the chin department,,,

I always say the GGG reminds me of Kosta Tsyzu but stevens may be his vince phillips,,,

I still favor GGG by early ko, but anything can happen with stevens power

Who said Stevens is on GGG`s level?Nobody said that, the thing is Stevens is the best available opponent for Golovkin, as far as a challenge.Considering the fact that all the top fighters in his weight class is unavailable. And we all know Golovkin will not move up to fight Andre Ward,or a Anthony Dirrell-who last year was mandatory to Ward`s title but got injured.

And stop acting like GGG is on a really high level. The guy has yet to beat a real live opponent.

I think some GGG fans are afraid that Stevens may KO him,or else why would they have a problem with Stevens fighting GGG?They want GGG to fight a fighter who has no chance at all,so they could continue to come here and talk about how great GGG supposedly is.
