At least Stevens has the stones to fight him and with his style it should make for a great fight (if a short one!), Golovkin hasn't really proven his chin yet, though it looks rock solid so far, so it will be interesting to see how it holds up vs Stevens.....Then again didnt we say the same thing before he fought Macklin, who btw is a far better fighter than Curtis!?
I assure you Macklin is not a better fighter than Stevens, GGG IS not better in every department, to me power is equal with Stevens being more explosive, I also believe Stevens has the faster hands, GGG puts his punches/combos together better. Also Stevens does get wild but he keeps his chin tucked all the time, just look @ the fight last night, during all the exchanges his chin was tucked. Also we don't know who stamina is better. Stevens fight before this was 10 rounder vs a guy whom always come to fight and has some type of pressure. I believe GGG last fight that went past the midway point was vs Ouma. So I say their both equal in that department Yes Stevens has 3 loses all @ super middle and light heavy, those guys were all bigger than him except Brinkley. Macklin had what 4 loses going in vs GGG, and has been KO twice before he met GGG. The fact that guys are saying Stevens is a bum/ or doesn't deserve the payday vs GGG, but yet GGG deserves to fight Mayweather "Yes Posters on here has said and continues to say that", smh. Stevens was a decorated amateur as well as well as golden gloves champ. Though not as deep as GGG, he was a hot prospect turning pro, and was until he didn't stay disciplined with his weight, and ventured in those higher weights were all his loses are. Now I'm not saying he would beat GGG, " I don't Know" but Stevenson is by far a serious more dangerous challenge/challenger, than the likes of Macklin, Ishida, Proska, & Rosado. Also for GGG to be so elite and have such a deep amateur pedigree. He gets hit way too much. Only guys whom didn't really land any leather was Macklin & Ishida whom was scared before they even entered the ring. Plus none of those guys I mentioned had the power to test GGG. Yes GGG gets hit way too much. Don't want to hear he's improved, no his competition has been made to order. Nevertheless GGG IS the real deal, just not invincible

Stevens has done nothing to deserve a title shot, so he starches a journeyman in one round, why does he deserve a shot? The only reason we're even talking about this is because he's the only fighter who's called GGG out. And that shouldn't be enough to merit a championship fight.

it's not like golovkin has many options at the moment, though. him knocking this guy out on hbo will only be good for his stock. he gets more viewers with every outing. eventually the big names won't be able to ignore him any more; until then, he just needs to keep looking impressive against whoever is willing to face him.

This is the stuff I'm talking bout! Rosado,Ishida, and Proska are all journeyman. Macklin is a class below the top/elite fighters. But Yet GGG deserves to fight Mayweather. So what you think Stevens don't deserve the fight. GGG should just fight him KO make his groupies happy, and prove Stevens is a bum than! Enough with he GGG is being avoided. Put up or shut up, by the way NBC boxing commentators last night said Stevens was rated #6 and #5 in two of the ranking systems. So there you have he's crakced the top 10 in both in and top 5 in one

                But Ishida deserved a shot?

I'm glad Stevens got Roman outta there quickly, so now his name gets thrown into the hat. Stevens or Mora in August/September and Geale/Barker winner in Nov/Dec.

The fight will not happen, not soon anyway. Stevens may want it, but Kathy Duva doesn't.

Even if it lasts 1-2 rounds?
