Simply enforce the rules that are already there. Holding, elbowing, low blows, head-butting...those are not part of the rules!

Eventually, they will have to address the new craze, those boxers "with movement"...aka runners! Deduct points for delay of game! If you run away with no intent to engage...delay of game!

People don't understand that it's only a 3-minute round. There isn't an allowance for breaks within the round!

Holding is a significant tool that certain boxers use to win fights. The ref unfortunately never does anything about it. Just saw Nelson vs Cuello where there was no warning or anything. The ref just saw it as a normal part of boxing. He didn't care. Nobody cares really.

All refs should be be taught how to ref a fight. Anybody else find it completely ridiculous that there's different "ways" to ref a fight? This usually means they interfere and fcuk fights up

Lmfao to some that isn't boring. Not every fight has to be a slugfest battle between two future brain damaged guys.

Some referees, especially in Europe and some U.S. refs like Eddie Cotton, do not allow fighters to fight in the clinch. They automatically break the fighters apart and disrupt the action. I think there should be some uniform rule where fighters allowed to fight in the clinch.

Here's an example: if you look at much of Tyson's early fights there was frequent clinches where both fighters were grappling, trying to get into position to punch. When you look at hw fights of recent e.g. Povetkin-Huck, Wlad-Thompson, etc. the clinches are broken up immediately. It actually seems to have changed the game somewhat.

I would make a rule banning promoters from signing fighters to long term deals,,, I think every fighter should be fight by fight with a promoter,,,

That way it forces promoters to come up with big cash or the other promoter will..

                    example,,, donaire vs mares,,,
If both are free agents, regardless of who promoted their last fight,, TR and GBP would both make offers for the fight,,,,
then TR could make offers for lucas/danny...

This competition for fights between promoters would only increase the money fighters make....

say TR did rios-alvardao 1,,, great fight everybody wants to see the rematch
Then GBP could make a better offer for the rematch, or maybe TR raises his bid,,, Or offers rios more money to fight a manny fight...

If promoters couldnt lock up fighters long term,,, it would force promoters to make the best fights, and pay the fighters top dollar,,,

This one rule would help boxing immensely

                      Agreed.

If you are a guy who wants to keep a fight long, and know that every clinch is going to result in the ref breaking the fight and reestablishing distance then clinching is an obvious tactic to use. Devon Alexander against Maidana springs to mind.

Refs should let people work in the clinch, if you want to get out of inside fighting then you are going to need good footwork and boxing skills. You shouldn't be able to just grab the other guy and wait for the ref to step in.
