I don't get all the excitement for this fight. Is it just eastern europeans getting exciting or what's going on?

Povetkin is overrated, barely survived against a mediocre CW in Huck.

Chambers, donald & byrd all great wins but none of them could punch. Povetkun hasn't progressed much the last few years. The worst thing that can happen to HW boxing happened when the WBA made the super & regular chsmpions. Noone is ducking, thr promoters just milk the "regular" title for all it's worth until the deadline to invoke a msndatory challenge has come. That's what 18-20 months? If they stop the regular crap the fighter would be the #1 contender not parading around as a world champion. Big difference in promoting a fight i bet. More money in a "world title" fight...glad to see it on HBO

Well if they are flying to China to broadcast that garbage they can fly to Europe to show a much more important fight so good to see that.

I'll be fine with it, depending on the match-up.

            Crawford vs. Abril/Gamboa/Shafikov/Estrada/Moses/Molina (LW)
            Crawford vs. Postol/Soto/Lundy/Jean/Silverio Ortiz (LWW)

That was Povetkin at his worst.

Povetkin is a very talented, good boxer. Apart from Klitchkos I wouldn't favor any HW over him.
I agree. povetkin at his best has a good skill set. wlad hasnt even been close to being pressured in his last couple fights so that could give pov an edge altho I still think wlad breaks him down and takes him out late. should make for a descent fight if pov goes out on his shield like I think he will

yea,,,its the lack of head movement that really lessens his chances. I like his combos,,uppercuts and body attack tho. I also think his hands are faster then people give him credit for. hes no speed demon but his hands are somewhat quick imo
