Pacquiao will take some punishment in this fight win or lose. Rios will be throwing and connecting until he either gets KO'd or KO Pacquiao himself. Rios did well against Alvarado, who is bigger and probably just as strong as Pacquiao. Unless, Roach is seeing something in training I'm not sure he can be so certain. Then again, he was raving about how well the last 2 or 3 training camps went but we all saw that he didn't look so great come fight night.

Although I won’t go into depth, this was the last Top Rank event that Event Coordinator Jay Edson would be part of before terminal Cancer struck him down. Many things have been said about Bob Arum, but the manner in which the Top Rank skipper handled his ailing employee/friend was one of class. It saddens me to even write this, but after I had Jay’s room papered with flowers, he took some other flowers he took with him that brought some peace and solitude to one of the greatest men you’ll ever have met if you ever did

Arum also anonymously paid for all Gennaro Hernandez's expensive cancer therapy for years, brought him to therapy and brought him home, supported his wife and family...All this for years and without any ballyhoo, it only came out after the funeral.

Arum and his wife do lot of this sort of thing, and his wife has founded several Ho****es. They are at the top of several charities and are the major contributors.

All this with no talk or bragging or boasting or burning $100 notes etc. To me that's a gentleman and a sportsman and a good person. The boxing fans who curse him daily know nothing about this. I think they'd be upset that it might get in the way of their prejudices so they'd ignore it..
Good post. However i did note the shot you took at floyd. Again you mistake a ring persona with the real person. Floyd has ALWAYS donated to charity as do a lot of fighters. I posted plenty of times in NSB about floyds charity work which he never brags about. And while im glad the politician turned promoter does good work he still deserves a lot of the negative press he gets. And it has nothing to do with prejudice it is his greedy promotions that rob boxers that need every dime they can get. Gotti, Lansky, Luciano, Larry Hoover, Escobar, and others of that ilk did a ton of charity work. But it does not erase the bad works. I give you credit for bringing a different element /angle here. But as usual i disagree.

I never understood that directive either. When you tell pac he has to win in spectacular fashion, you take a fighter with reckless tendency and make him wilder which opens him up to crisp counter punches. He should just go for the win then as you posted, go for spectacular vs bradley.

If Pacquiao actually does lose, Roach will push him to retire. Rios, fighting at 147-pounds for the first time in his career, is looking for a war, and that is exactly what Roach wants. If Rios wants to **** away, Roach predicts pain and punishment will come his way.
