You forget that Paulie, for all his heart, is past his prime and could never let alone now kill a butterfly with his punches. He punched Broner ALL NIGHT long.
Miadana isnt all that sefitand flashy, but if Broner goes there and trades with him, the only way he boxes actually, Miadana murders him. Sure, Maidana would take a couple more punches maybe than Paulie did, but landing 10% of the punches Paulie landed you'd have to rebuild Broners face after the fight.
