It was lucky it landed when it did because JMM probably would have been out of there within the next 2 rounds.


On the other hand the punch didn't throw itself, it had to be timed and placed properly, and a lesser fighter wouldn't have pulled it off. So whoever is trying to belittle JMM by calling it a lucky punch has their head up their ass.

Doesn't really mean ****... it's just a classix counter off a right jab, there is no movement like manny or double feint... Marquez just uses his right hand as always. The guy he sparred threw the crappiest jab ever, and Marquez responded with throwing his whole weight behind his punch... in sparing.

In regards to the actual punch, it was not lucky it landed, however it was lucky when it landed, as Pac had over-extended and basically had the force of his momentum + punch = KO. Kinda like he KO'd himself.

Amazing ,you post video footage of him working on the exact same punch,while the guy threw the same half ass jab Manny did and it doesnt mean ****?

he then when on to fight on 07/31/2010, then 11/27/2011, then 07/16/2011 , then 11/12/2011 ( pac 3 ) by this time he was feeling pretty good at the weight. then again he fought at welter on 04/14/2012 and finally on DEC 8TH 2012 it all came to fruition.

It reminded me of Bob Fitzsimmons' straight right KO of John "The Plough Puller" McTucky, the footage is on youtube if you wanna check it out. Newspapers of the time argued over the "luck" involved with that punch too.

JMM was using that same right counter in sparring and even dropping guys with it. He learned from the prior fights and put it all together to culminate in a punch he had practiced, landing it perfectly, and it did.

Ill give Marquez credit for the punch though, it was well timed and planned but needed some special substance to put Pac to sleep..

Something tells me you havent watch fights 1-3 when Marquez landed 3 punch combos and even that same right hand and still couldnt put Pac down..

I've said it a few times the punch had some luck in landing!! Juan was looking for the spot but Manny was avoiding it by punching! The KO came because Manny stopped punching and fell inside behind two feints and did nothing!!
If you watch the punch landing Mannys right shoulder was almost touching Juans!!!!! The punch never got out in front of Juan and it was a split second late but still landed!!! Manny had no balance to hekp absorb the blow and was caught blind and thats how even great fighters get ko'd!
So the punch landing when it did had some luck no doubt but the set up was something Juan looked for in all their bouts! Juan just needed Mannys help!!

that right hand counter was always there for jmm. he'd landed it a lot of times before but he also missed with it a lot more times than he landed it.

it was pac's ****** mistake...he already won that particular round and the 10 seconds bell already sounded but he still attacked jmm. he should've just let the round end and put the round in the bag. even if he hit jmm with one more punch in that last seconds, it wouldn't really have a big impact as both will just head to his own corner and try to recover. to pac's misfortune, he was the one who got hit with a big well-timed right counter.

I'm 35 years old man. and I've been watching boxing as far as i can remember. My only love of sport is boxing. I am a fan of NO OTHER SPORT... NONE.

I re watch fights like freaken 20 times, sometimes more. it urks the **** out of my wife.

how many times have i seen the Marquez pac fights? ........ LOTS . and not only those , great fights in general can 't explain it, I can watch em over and over.

my point is this. I'm not ignorant. as a matter of fact the opposite. I'm going to go with him working hard because there has been no proof otherwise. He busted his ass to get that stregnth and speed......and saying that he was juiced diminishes his skill and hard work.
