Thurman was a guy that everybody called a bum last year and said he doesnt deserve to be on HBO,,,
Each fight he has gotten better, and level of competition has gotten better,,
Quintana has made a career of beating hyped guys like williams, julio, lattimore..
Zaveck has been in title fights, and is very experienced,
Chavez was unkown to most, but the kid can fight and punch,,, i wouldnt consider him a tomato can,,,

    But thats just my opinion
i never thought chaves was any good. i think thurman is a good fighter, but the chabes fight wasnt as impressive for him as a few of his others.

Thurman should either get Broner or Maidana. Maidana doesn't deserve a title shot just because he beat Soto Karass and Josesito Lopez. Diego Chaves was a way better victory. I'll go on to say that if Chaves had a better trainer, and top notch conditioning coach he could be a problem in his own right. Thurman deserves Broner, Maidana, the Ghost, or Soto Karass

I had only seen chavez on youtube clips,,, Wasnt that impressed with him on those clips,, but on showtime he looked tough,, not a world beater, but he came on strong early,, i thought thurman was getting bullied at his own game, after 2 rounds i thought thurman doesnt want none of this guy, but thurman changed up his style, and pulled out a great win,,

many young fighters wouldnt have been able to make those adjustments like thurman did,,
Dulorme would have been beaten by chavez that night,, thurman just made the right adjustments,,
Not trying to say chavez is a world beater, but def came to fight, and gave thurman good work..

I've never seen a fighter get so much praise from a KO loss before in my life, it must be because they had never seen him fight before and he was better than they expected.

I thought Chaves looked OK, but there's people here now who think he is a better win than Karras, Paulie, Lopez etc. And that he beats Broner, maidana etc easily. Its bizarre.

Chaves hasn't beaten anybody and lost his first big fight, lets wait and see how he does next time out vs a good fighter

He should fight the winner of Alexander and khan so he can get the belt. He can't get that from his last bout obviously but if he beats/KO Robert Guerrero, the better.

The only fights I'd want next for Thurman is Maidana, Guerrero, or Soto-Karass.
