i mean the man was a GOD at the time..he earned $140 million in 18 months..he earned like $30 million for an 80 second fight with Seldon..he slept with hundreds of women and bought himself ferrari's or Bentleys every week.

Probably wasn't making the same money, but he also wasn't a convicted felon about to get his ass kicked by Evander Holyfield. I agree with this.

Very few fighters have been known by people who can't even be considered casual boxing fans. It's a very, very short list...and Tyson is on it.

Yeah, 2013 Lucas Matthysse. According to NSB, He's a ****ing GOD!!! Knocks people out, bbq's Iguana's and says stuff like "En La Concha De Tu Madre" (In Your Mothers P*ssy) after his fights. Lol He also has the coolest nickname in the business "The Machine".

Mike Tyson was at one point the most well known athlete and easily one of the 3-5 most recognized people on the planet.

Can't get any better than that.

None of what you listed really makes anyone "cool" per se. That's just a bunch of shallow stuff, and being cool is the antithesis of shallow. You can be homeless, broke and be the coolest person on the planet.

Cool is sort've like an effortless heroism. It's about class, grace, generosity, wit, style, humility, economy of moves, integrity, respect, behavior under pressure, versatility, etc.

None of those things apply to a 95-97 Mike Tyson. If you had said "can there ever be anyone more terrifying than the 1995-1997 version of Mike Tyson?," you might have a case for that. But even then I would say a 88-89 Mike Tyson is genuinely one of the most terrifying people in recorded history, if not the most.
