Someone was saying he has miles to go but as far as entertainment value, he doesn't even have inches to go. He is there. I can appreciate the slick Boxers with defence as much as the blood and guts warriors. You can't easily make one out to be the other. He can improve but he is what he is. He will take down as well as lose to some slick fighters. The gradient of skills vs heart is not something you can analyze like math and come to an absolute of who wins. But one thing is absolute, no one wants to see a distinterested fighter in the ring going through the motions with no sense of urgancy or just there for a payday.

It takes two to make a great fight but you're right, thread title should read "Arakawa Punches His Way Into Boxing Fans Hearts. He was the smaller man with less power, the underdog who just kept coming.

It does, but the overwhelming support here for Arakawa is amazing.
It makes it that much better since people though he was going to get blasted and even more so after the 2 KD's

Figueroa is coming along. He has to work on his defense. He is in great condition for fights, but his lack of defense along the ropes can get him punished. He also has to figure out which style he wants to consistently fight in. Southpaw or orthodox. Against a skilled fighter, he won't be able to switch like that.

He broke both of his hands and crushed his nose from a head butt within the first 3 rounds. Had that not happened, he wouldn't of struggled so much. It was clear after the 3rd round that something was wrong with him.

That saysnothing of his horrendous defense against a slower, light hitting, smaller opponent. Its obvious HD has some deficiencies he needs to work on. Speaks nothing of how great the fight was tho.
