I will repeat: Arakawa should've got the $10k bonus for his hear /determination...Figueroa should not have even been awarded the bout but that's how WBC works, I guess...Figueroa has miles 2 go 2 overcome his poor defense...I'd like to c him vs Estrada, the guy that tko'd Arakawa last November , a guy that has a big punch, that may give Figueroa some validity...

I agree on the last part and it's a fight that realistically has to be made. Broner most likely won't return to lightweight, which would leave Figueroa as "full" champ and Estrada as his mandatory.

I'm not sure that fight went down like that?

        From boxrec:

Estrada cut left eye and point deduction on Arakawa in rd 5 nullified on replay review - caused by punch rather than headbutt
Bout stopped end of rd 10 Estrada swollen right eye due to accidental elbow on replay review

Well broner hasn't given up his belt. So he may take the Figueroa fight. I also think its a slim chance of it happening but Estrada or Broner would be very dangerous fights for Figueroa.

I like the grit he showed and I think he's going to make for exciting fights down the road. I don't think he's going to have a long elustrious career. Maybe like a DeMarco or Molina. He can be outboxed with relative ease in my opinion.

Someone was saying he has miles to go but as far as entertainment value, he doesn't even have inches to go. He is there. I can appreciate the slick Boxers with defence as much as the blood and guts warriors. You can't easily make one out to be the other. He can improve but he is what he is. He will take down as well as lose to some slick fighters. The gradient of skills vs heart is not something you can analyze like math and come to an absolute of who wins. But one thing is absolute, no one wants to see a distinterested fighter in the ring going through the motions with no sense of urgancy or just there for a payday. He is at the opposite end of the spectrum to as an example, Farah Ennis who showed no real desire to win in his last fight compared to Andre Berto who showed a ton of heart and will.
