But whether he's a great trainer or not, will never be proven before he takes on a bigger stable and has multiple world champions.

But he will never eclipse Steward. Imo, the greatest trainer of all times.
    True that.

Its the right time because he is taking it for the right reasons and not taking it cos there isn't a possibility of losing. Of course he can lose and that's the worse thing that can happen when you fight.
But he will gain experience and many people say a loss is the best thing that ever happened to them that is almost a cliché in boxing now, so why would it be any different for Fury?
Plus its the natural fight out there. Of course in an ideal world Fury might fight haye when hes experienced, but as people said its now or never who knows what haye will be doing tomorrow let alone in a years time.
Haye might be the new Luther or James bond.

There is/was plenty of hype around him. Sky constantly call him "The Dark Lord" and a "master tactician" just because he told Groves to run and feint all night against DeGale to steal a decision. It's absolutely laughable. The guy is a one trick pony bum trainer.

There were some idiots on here, before the Wlad fight, claiming he was a better trainer than Manny Steward.
Who in hell were the people saying that... I'd actually like to know!

Some people get way to built up in the hype, its completely incomparable.

That would be the most interesting fight in boxing to me. If Fury beats Haye, I'd love to see him fight Vitali. Vitali's never beat a good giant HW before, much as he tried to get the Valuev fight. Fury would be super hyped (as long as he didn't ruin his reputation by fighting and getting destroyed by Cain Velasquez in an MMA fight, which would completely ruin the VK fight if he was ****** enough to do that), and it would be a great, legacy capping win for Vitali, as long as he could pull it off, which he should do. Either way, I'll be disappointed in Vitali if he doesn't end his career beating the winner of Fury/Haye, although there's probably a greater than 50% chance that he'll retire before then.

Sky refer to him as the Dark Lord because it's a nickname Groves gave him on Twitter.

Booth had a good reputation in England way before the Groves-Degale fight. He's part of the trainers association and has a lot of respect from the journalists as well.

As I said, he's a good trainer, otherwise he wouldn't have turned one amateur into a world champion in two weightclasses in 25 fights and another a world title challenger in 18 fights. Simple as that.

He's not the best trainer in the world, nor is he the best trainer in Britain. But he's a good trainer nevertheless.

He's overrated as hell. His tactics are so basic. Run, feint, run, run, run, run, feint, run, feint, feint, THROW A PUNCH, run, run, feint, feint, run. Round over.

And who could forget the genius of wearing red t-shirt when he wants his fighters to get angry and go for the KO but wear a blue shirt when he wants them to stay cool

I just think you are being very basic over why he's a good trainer. David Haye is obviously a naturally talented fighter with speed and power. Haye has arguably underachieved - he is virtually the only guy in the HW division with the required attributes to trouble either Klitschko but under Booth and his tactics, he wasn't able to put a dent in Wladimir.

Booth got hyped to the moon for his supposed masterful tactics against Valuev which saw Haye throw the fewest number of punches ever in a HW fight where he was less impressive than a 50 year old Holyfield.

Groves has proved nothing yet except getting a gift decision over DeGale.

Haye is a CW trying to beat the bigger man. The mere fact that Booth managed to get Haye into a kind of shape where he could beat a few world champions and challenge for the undisputed championship (more or less) has to say something.

Did you see Groves in the amateurs? He was a brawler with little technique and no finesse. He would also go berserk every time he was touched. Booth has managed to smooth some of the edges out, and Groves is now a very good fighter. He's got a beautiful jab, good footwork and a good right hand as well. Attributes developed by Booth.

And who cares about the Valuev fight? Once again, this was a fight that had the biggest weight difference in the history of all of boxing championship fights, plus Haye broke his hand in the 2nd round. He still managed to beat and hurt the big man, though not particularly entertaining. But a lot of people overlook the fact that nobody has looked good against Valuev. Not Chagaev, not Holyfield.

So once again, I say, he's a good trainer. But not a great one. Not yet anyway.
