Past prime. The last great Pacquiao was seen vs. Cotto. His footwork against Clottey, Mosley, Marquez, and Bradley were atrocious. It looked like he had lead calves. His punching power and ferocity were diminished. I personally feel the Margarito fight took a lot out of him.
Is Manny still prime or past it?

Pac cant get out of bed the day after the Marg fight. he can barely move.
Margarito is 5 inches taller and 20lbs heavier. and Margarito had that insane stamina.Comment

Everybody talking about past prime and losing to Marquez, if you watch Margarito/Pac and Pac/Marquez II, then watch Marquez or Pac after that I think it's obvious they are both past their *physical* prime. Pac has a young man's style and I don't think he could adjust to win some of the fights he's won in the past, to make up for his own decline. Or at least not win in as impressive a fashion.
Marquez is just flat out smarter and he can compensate for his own physical decline better and has a better style to do it to begin with. Shoot, he doesn't have the legs he used to have either. If you look at the top ten p4p guys in the world, you've got four dudes that clearly are past it in there. Martinez, Mayweather, Pac and Marquez are all four past it! You've got to be able to see this. Are they going to wax and wane a little bit as far as what they can still do? Yeah but they're still past it, all of them. I don't think people realize what these guys' bodies have been through at all.Last edited by GoldenGloveLove; 07-31-2013, 02:19 AM.Comment
