If Pac's got a chin left Rios is ruined. If I had to write down the recipe for the worst thing you can possibly do when you fight Pacquiao stylistically I'd say if you're about the same size-which Rios is-go ahead and throw in volume while you're square and walk forward in straight lines. Everything that you can do wrong against Pac's style is what Rios does. Rios isn't a bad fighter and he can hit, he has great stamina and a chin and he's a good inside offensive fighter. He'd out gut a lot of other good fighters. But as soon as he's mid range Pacquiao's got him fifty f$cking ways to sunday from every angle.

Rios is basically going to walk in on Pac like Margarito except Rios ain't as big as Margarito, has less ability to absorb the punishment and probably can't hit as hard even though he might be p4p a harder puncher. Unless Pac's shot after the knockout loss he'll torture Rios's face and make him look like Maidana by the end of the fight. For Rios it's horrible matchmaking stylistically. He should fight people who don't like pressure not people who LOVE pressure.

If Pacquiao loses to Rios by UD or SD, it was due to Pac's layoff. If he loses to Rios by TKO or KO ... I won't have words to explain that one.

Pacquiao must win, and win big he must. That's all that needs to be said about this fight.

When Pacquiao is done, Rios will be like a fish after skinning. I don't see what Rios has to beat Pacquiao. Different class, but the right type of fight under the circumstances.

Good post. This is basically the way to look at it. If Pacquiao somehow loses, it really does say a lot, because Rios is exactly the kind of fighter he should pummel. If he can no longer beat a Rios, he's fallen too far.

Rios has a bout a 5% chance of beating Pacquiao, and that 5% is taking into account anomalous acts such as Pacquiao slipping on the advertising paint and hitting his chin on Rios' glove, Pacquiao not realizing that one of his cornermen is holding a water bottle out for him in the corner and turning his chin into it too quickly, getting KO'd between rounds. Things like that.

I just can't see how Rios can win. He doesn't have that huge one shot punch that can stop Manny in his tracks, he has struggled badly against even remotely speedy fighters, and he isn't hard to hit. My only question going into this fight is if Manny can put him down for the full ten or if the end will come from cuts or his own corner. I think this is going to be a brutal, bloody mess of a beating. I really do. I also believe it will become obvious by the second round that Rios is tailor made for Manny and in past his depth. Mannys hands are better, his feet are better, and he can do more.

                    Bingo!

The only thing id say is that if Rios is able to work on the inside, he could hurt Pac. Pac IMO isnt great there.
Plus, id say Rios has a slightly better defence than Margrito. At least he has his hands up.

But Pac should put on a display. Lets see how much Rios can take, and whether he can get inside.
