PDL fight was years ago and Malignaggi has never been KO'd. He's been TKO'd, corner/ref stoppage, but not "on the floor and can't get up" KO'd.

But just like you use the PDL reference, why not use the fact that Broner stopped DeMarco also?

We can't necessarily measure Broner's power at 147 just "yet". Stopping Malignaggi via KO is no easy feat. TKO, sure, but not KO.

I'm not sure Chaves could stop Malignaggi either who is the stronger fighter than Thurman toe to toe.
DeMarco?? Wow. He's been ko'd before. Being a beast at lightweight don't mean a thing at welterweight. Broner was thoroughly outworked by Paulie. If it were Thurman or Chavez or even Maidana landing on that boy, he'd perish in there.

DeMarco had never been knocked down. It was a doctor stoppage against Valero.

I just brung up DeMarco because you brought up PDL.

Please don't turn me into a Broner fan. I don't even like the kid and I want him to get his ass kicked just like anyone else does.

I just think guys like Mathysse, Bradley and possibly Marquez beat Broner.

"at this point", I just don't see it in Thurman, yet.

Neither is Broner's at any weight

You don't think it's proven at LW?

Not against top opposition. Yea he stopped Demarcos but the guy won 1 round in his 2 toughest fights prior to fighting Broner and was already stopped before

I'd like to see it, but they said during Saturday's telecast that Broner was NOT vacating his 135 lb belt - he's probably heading south for his next fight...A loss at this point to a basically anonymous (outside the hard-core sphere) puncher kills Broner's earning potential, so I think Haymon keeps him out of Thurman's lane for now. But, like I said, I'd love to see it.

It's a pick em fight but Thurman has shown the ability to take a punch as well as he can give one. Someone mentioned Berto comparison but Berto could never take a good punch. Broner is just not a real WW at the end of the day he has not carried power at the weight and his chin hasn't been checked yet, not that it's a bad thing but he's going to get cracked one day.

It's a great match up but I doubt Broner stays at 147 why not go attempt to win a 3rd title at 140? People often criticized Floyd for "cherrypicking" during his career with the assumption that Broner will follow but in this day in age Broner won't be able to run from the Thurman's, Maidana's, Matthyese of the world for long even If he wanted too, not enough tomato cans left for him too..
