Comments Thread For: Denis Boytsov's Sauerland Debut Targeted For Aug/Sept

Undefeated heavyweight contender Denis Boytsov (33-0, 26KOs) has signed a promotional contract with the biggest powerhouse in Europe, Sauerland Event. The General Manager of Sauerland, Chris Meyer, has advised BoxingScene.com that Boytsov will debut for the company in August or September.

Earlier this month Boytsov, 27-years-old, broke away from longtime promoter Universum, after a lengthy contractual dispute. He was being pursued by numerous promoter in Germany and abroad.

Boytsov was a top amateur before turning pro, winning the 2001 Cadet World Championship at Light Middleweight, 2002 Cadet World Championship at Heavyweight and in 2004 the Junior World Championship at super heavyweight. He finished his amateur run with a record of 115-15. [Click Here To Read More]

Boytsov will likely be on the Huck-Arslan card on September 14.

One of the most overrated HW's, and the worst example of modern HW's ducking champs and contenders. Disgraceful that Ring had him in the top 10 so long, he never fought a clear top 20 HW. Heard Vitali offered him the Charr fight, but he turned it down, and that Fury offered him the Johnson fight, which he also turned down. He's arguably worse than Wilder in the careful matchmaking department, hope he starts getting serious with his career.

It was his de****able promoter Universum who turned down those fights.

Sauerland will now put him into meaningful fights.

Boytsov has broken his hand so often and in the first bigger challenge or in training it will probably brake again.....the guy has no future

I hope he isn't going to be fighting 8 rounders. He will get an opportunity with saurland but is he big enough & can his hands stay healthy? He is pretty small & i want to see him get hit.

How about you grow a brain before criticizing others use of one? Its nothing personal against him, I'm not attacking his moral right to exist or his character, I'm stating a fact. He has not proven himself against other top HW's though he has had opportunities, and he should not be considered in the top 20 until he has done so. If he goes on to fight and beat a top 20 HW, I'll put him in the top 20, if he beats a few top 20's or one top 10 I'll put him in the top 10, I don't carry grudges, just stating facts.

I think he beats Helenius, Wach, Pianeta, Charr...Let's hope Sauerland doesn't screw him over like Universum.
