    What was the best era at welterweight...explain why you think so.

    The top three IMO is the mid 40s to early 50s, the 1960s, and the late 70s/early 80s.

    not much between them...leh go!!!

    i'm gonna go with the floyd-judah-baldomir era. you got the greatest fighter of all time floyd mayweather, you got tough as nails linear champ carlos baldomir who was wrecking everyone and everything in sight, and you got zab judah who is a slick southpaw who has fought everyone!

          40's and 50s and it's not close. Reason: talent pool/interest at the time.

            How about being serious for a change and agreeing that it was from around 1915 to 1940 and then 1945-55. Then of course the Hearns Leonard- period. The Trinidad period was pretty fair.

                I agree...from say 45 to 55 there was Gavilan, ray Robinson, Burley, Demarco, basilio, Saxton, billy Graham, red Cochran and a host of good contenders

                    In my lifetime is the one when Cotto, Margarito, Pacquiao, DLH, Clottey, Paul Williams Im kind of sure Im forgetting some but it was SOLID!

                    Basically when Mayweather retired....
