AD, littlemac and I just proved that Guerrero wasn't legit just for fanboys. He was legit for the usual crowd that like to scream "Mayweather's ducking!". Just ask Pac-Boy......

At WW, they needed to prove themselves more before being considered legit especially considering that on this site most people were complaining that Berto's resume is crap and he needed to start fighting more credible opponents.

Only for Floyd fans was it legit.

The common denominator is Berto. He has no defense and they were able to exploit it. For some Floyd fans, even after seeing the proof the first time (Ortiz), they still say the same thing the next time (Guerrero). It's legit!

Just saw this post below. So you kind of answered what you thought of Guerrero's and Ortiz's sole opponent at WW. You kinda killed your above statement.

Both embarrasingly poor opponent choices for floyd and more importantly, the public that got stiffed because of it.

They don't enhance his legacy at all IMO. If he beat Soto Karass by 12-0 UD, would it be defining? No, and JSK is a better WW than both Guerrero and ATM Ortiz as well.

              They were legit welters,,,

did they deserve the shot in the biggest fight of the year,, probably not,,,,
but with manny and bradley with top rank

they were the best options available...

and in the ortiz fight, floyd was coming off an 18 month layoff,,, ortiz had a belt and was hot after the berto fight,, so it made sense,,, now after the ortiz fight floyd should have looked for a big mega fight and he got it with cotto,, so im not that critical of floyd for those fights,,,

ortiz, guerrero would be big fights for anyone else,, and they are just merely tune-ups for floyd,,,

that speaks volumes about how good floyd is compared to other welters

There was very few "ducking" posts except when for some criticizing Floyd requesting CWs and that became a reality once signed.

Go check out the poll on Floyd vs Canelo before the fight. That pretty much states how wrong you are about people thinking that Canelo is some kind of huge threat for Floyd. Yes you will ALWAYS have posts by some fans and some haters that reflect your point of view but for the most part, most are calling it for what it is. You just have to look at Canelo's last fight to know that he needed more time to fix his issues and gain more experience.
