  • Curry was an outstanding technician and really brilliant to watch. Quite possibly the sharpest, most technically refined boxer that I've ever seen on film. The absolute definition of a boxer-puncher.

What does that have to do with Starling and Curry being better talents than anyone Mayweather has ever fought? Mayweather never fought a boxer of the skill level of either of those two, at any weight class that he's fought at. A prime Stevie Johnston was around that level of talent, but that unfortunately never happened.

By the way, since when was winning a UD against an on opponent on the level of Starling a bad thing? Mayweather's spent a large portion of his career churning out those sort of decisions against limited, mediocre opposition.

Had a funny way of showing it considering he turned down a career high purse against both Leonard and Duran within a space of a couple of months.

You don't think Genaro or Castillo were as talented? We will simply disagree.

Nothing wrong with it. My point is if curry is going SD/UD against starling then IMO he likely loses to floyd who is a superior boxer.

What about the fact that prime Curry went SD/UD with Marlon Starling? Marlon is under rated IMO as a fighter but he isn't on floyd's level.

Connecting flush with floyd isn't easy.
This is just dumb. Starling would have given Floyd fits, possibly/probably beaten him.

          Triangle theories.

My guess is you have seen starling fight once or twice, probably on youtube, well after his career was over. whereas I watched him grow up and devlop as a kid in Conneticut and Jersey.

As usual, your guess is a complete **** up. Marlon was not a fighter I particularly liked as he could be awkward as hell to watch at times, but he was an extremely capable fighter with good defense and tough as nails so I had massive respect for him. I did my growing up in the 70's and 80's so of course I saw him fight. Simple fact is to those of us that know and were around, Floyd would have really struggled in that era. I know you dont like it, but its the way it is.

NO my guess isn't because unless you grew up on the east coast of the states you surely didn't see his fights before CBS.

Floyd may have struggled because the ww's we discuss began their career at the weight. where floyd got here far into his career, except duran who was at ww for a brief period and moved up because he ate, drank and snorted just about everything between fights.

I've seen Starling figt live maybe 20 times. Thats why I know he is under rated. But I don't think he would give floyd many problems.

Its pointless trying to talk to you because you are just a nuthugger. You could have seen him fight 100 times and you still wouldnt know what you were looking at, because you have to take the default position that Floyd beats almost anyone ever even if you did. Its just silly to the point of being laughable now.

Yeah, I figured you really hadn't seen Starling fight much and were just cosiging to cosign. Typical gong resort to the name calling.

I've never said floyd beats everyone-I've just watched the sport a long time and can defend my arguments about who I think floyd defeats better than most.

Err..no, sorry, but what you do is just waffle. Its the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears, closing your eyes and going 'lalalalalalala.....'. And like I said, I have seen enough of the welterweights in the eighties, and we did get quite a lot of fights from america shown, believe it or not, to know that Floyd would have struggled like hell with a lot of the top guys. Thats not a knock on Floyd, its just the way it is.
