He would toy with them at 135 just as he did with JMM , and any weight above 135 he will do the same .

There is nothing you can say as they have all been beaten by lesser fighters than Floyd Mayweather .

Floyd Mayweather Jr is the greatest defensive fighter of this era, thats not even debatable. Now as far as your perception of me your way off basis, because as great as Duran was, he was not the best at anything in his era, and there within lies the difference of the two;.

      • Cannot believe what I have read in this thread. 80 pages....thats right! 80 pages of floydiot crybabies whining because a man widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters and certainly a far greater and respected one than Floyd, to have walked the earth insulted their idol.

This sad collection of grubby little bumsniff's can jump up and down and moan as much as they like, the fact is anyone with even a passing interest in the sport is going to put much more store in what a man like Duran has to say than some floboner eejit angrily beating a keyboard with its two left thumbs.

You cannot hate on Floyd and praise Manny , they fought the same opponents and Floyd beat them when they were better fighters and at a more comfortable weight for them , and Floyd fought versions Manny refuses too .

Floyd at 135 would easily beat Barrera Morales and Manny so saying Manny fought them and that makes him greater because of that is just fanboy BS .
you do realize that manny was a flyweight champion,, he has gone up nearly 40 lbs,,,

floyd started at 130 and then climbed to 154

for the bold,, then why is there a catchweight of 152..

and why did floyd gone on several retirements,,,

Yes, so what? Duran was an offensive fighter and still had one of the greatest defenses in his era. The man fought in 5 decades and was the FOTD for the 1970's, and thats not by luck. Just because Floyd Has the best defense in his era, that makes him better then Duran? Dont be silly. Even with his losses, Duran is still considered one of the greatest fighters ever for a reason. You're just the typical "Floyd has his 0, best defense this era" nut licker. Like i said, attempting to attack Duran's skill set is moronic

You're using hypothetical wins to credit Mayweather whilst calling people "fanboys" for giving Pacquiao credit for real wins.

You couldn't make this **** up

Defensively, Floyd could arguably be top dog in any era.

I think the primary difference between Duran and Floyd is their fighting mentality. Floyd is very risk averse, a safety-first technician who has forged his career in a similar manner. Duran, on the down side after his LW reign, had the balls to challenge these beasts at 147, 154 and 160 (I could NEVER imagine Floyd calling out Hagler). The Panamanian lost most of these fights (and won a few actually), BUT AT LEAST HE LOST IN THE RING USING HIS FISTS. He didn't need no stinkin' vacations. Part of the reason why he's considered an ATG without question. This thread of 800+ posts indicates not everybody feels the same way about Floyd's resume.

Your explanation sound lame, because Floyd is fighting for his 4th lineal title in less than 45 days, and if he wins and goes on to become fighter of the year in 2013, he has a better than average chance of becoming the ONLY fighter in history to win that honor in 3 different decades. Unlike you, I can appreciate what Im witnessing now, because the significance is just as great.

Best lightweight. Hardest puncher. Toughest chin. Fiercest boxer. Most exciting fighter. Best boxer before the others developed. Only that.
