The article clearly explains why Floyd didn't take the fight with Margarito. Margarito was never even a mandatory. Arum new that Floyd wanted to leave Top Rank which is why he made that bogus offer. The articles also explains everything as to why Floyd did not want Arum as his promoter as well.Comment

Duran a BRAWLER????? Probably the most sophisticated boxer ever. Observe how he negates speed, closes off a ring, nullifies the holding, busts up your arms... For today's fans, anything more than the clean tap and run is too much to grasp! Ballet with gloves! That's boxing for the new age fans! You've officially lost your F'ing mind. FIrst off, Duran wouldve already been giving up a 6 INCH REACH ADVANTAGE! Duran was the best BRAWLER of his era. Doesn't mean **** against a guy who makes tactical adjustments so well. Do I like Duran? Absolutely, but make no mistake, he would've been mincemeat against Mayweather. Bad matchup stylistically, not to mention I can't take a guy seriously who QUITS! He QUIT! One more for good measure.....HE QUIT! He couldnt adjust.....and he QUIT!Comment

Whoa! Such an easy, simple fight! Why not pick up an easy $8mil if it's so easy!?
You guys just love fights on paper haha...
For me to believe one guy could beat another, I have to know that he believes in himself to be able to beat the other...turning down $8mil, making excuses, taking long vacations, etc...that all tells me Floyd doesn't believe he could.
Keep making fights on paper guys...it's great for when I'm slow at work

lol since when did Floyd fight mandatories? It was one of the 2 or 3 biggest fights at the time that could have been made, there was legit interest in the fight, and a career purse offer on the table. Keep making excuses. The article clearly explains why Floyd didn't take the fight with Margarito. Margarito was never even a mandatory. Arum new that Floyd wanted to leave Top Rank which is why he made that bogus offer. The articles also explains everything as to why Floyd did not want Arum as his promoter as well.
It even says, Floyd and him were on good terms at the time of the buy-out.Comment

Floyd would have done a good job in the 80s but he would not be undefeated not by a longshot. forget about hagler, he would never step into the ring with him. then there is tommy hearns, there is his second loss most probably by ko. Floyd would have beaten duran like leonard did in his second fight. then there is his third loss against sugar ray leonard, it would be a good fight but sugar would have won a close decision.Comment
