Floyd at lw has a very good chance of beating Duran and vice versa at lw. After the Castillo fights, Floyd became a pretty good lw once he filled out. You can't match the dominant Duran against the Floyd who fought Castillo in fight 1. You can't match the Floyd who filled out with the Duran who fought DeJesus in fight 1 either. Take them at their best. I think Duran wins, but Floyd is a very, very live dog.
Holy cow,,, the legendary Frank Ducketts actually has a good post
My head is going to explode. What. in. the. actual. ****.
Just goes to show u how far these guys have there heads up floyds skirt. Floyd over Hagler, Sugar ray leonard running from Ortiz, Duran just a brawler. Delusional fanboy is to nice of a word LMFAO
Floyds best weight was 130-140 and yes ko'd some guys at those weights but he was never a big power puncher,,,,
I honestly believe floyd was at the height of his powers mentally and physically when he was at 140,,,,,, but he had 3 fights there, corley, brucsles, and gatti,,, not exactly a murderer's row
I actually agree that Floyd is a very small WW. Given that he walks around at about 150, he prob should still be at 140...........which I'd have much preferred.........have him occasionally fight WW's vs SWW's...........
He has been impressive.........in this era...........it's too bad that as he's winding up, there are so many guys his size coming into their prime that would be good fights for him........
Oscar was a lot bigger and a lot taller then Floyd. He must have outweighed Floyd by 15-20 pounds.Oscar was also blazing fast. But Floyd still won clearly in my opinion. And Floyd and Oscar was past their prime by the time they fought each other.Floyd fought Castillo with a hurt shoulder in the first fight and beat Castillo much clearer in the rematch.
Duran lost to Wilfredo Benitez who has a similar defensive style to Floyd as far as upper body movement to avoid punches, and Benitez was not as good a fighter as Floyd.Duran also lost to Ray Leonard in 2 out of 3 of their fights and Floyd is way more skilled then Ray Leonard.Floyd would have done well in Duran`s era and only would have lost to Tommy Hearns in my opinion.

You quoted Bojangles, lmao. Your first sentence is what you do daily. You think that you're a hater, but you're trying too hard, and you fall far, far short of being a hater dishing out butthurt.
Maybe if you posted your opinion of Floyd instead of trying to anger his fans with your corny ass same old same old daily lines, posters would respect you because I have yet to see any poster treat a post of yours with respect.
Glad to hear that all time greats dont think too highly of Mayweather. Yes he is an all time talent, but he has dodged wy too many opponents in their prime. Canelo is the first one he has finally had balls to step p too

All the fights you mention for duran were all way past his prime... Dude was just a big name in the 80s much like oscar was in the 2000s, yes oscar could beat a vargas and mayorga but he was overmatched with floyd and manny, hopkins,,,
just like past his prime duran was overmatched vs prime benitz, srl, hearns and hagler...
Duran was fighting prime ATG's giving them tough fights except for hearns, when he was past his prime... FLoyd now has slowed abit and he would have lost to those guys in the 80's as well
Duran gets penalized because all his big fights came after his prime..... So yes he doesnt look to be that good,, but what past prime fighter could compete against ATG's in their prime at their prime weight...
Duran in the 70's was a legit goon....
I am not from that era so I could care less about doing too much research I've seen all of them fight but at the end of the day 36 yo Floyd beats a 36 yo Duran from what I've seen of Duran around that age. When I do research I often look at the greats most significant and late career fights, I'm a firm believer in talent when you can still perform at an elite level even at an advanced age like Mayweather I think that says a lot about fighters and from what I've seen of the greats most of them were pretty much washed up at Floyd's age.. and even today's great fighters theres no way Pacquiao will be able to perform like Floyd when he reaches age 36..That means something..
Don't show yourself to be more of a fool than you already have. By the time Duran was Mayweather's age he'd had about 90 fights and was not only a life-long partier, but well worn, battle-scarred and didn't take fighting seriously enough to make weight properly.
Everybody, including you seems to be saying that if a person, say born in 1940, and lives through the Louis, Patterson, Ali, Duran, Hearns, Leonard, Hagler, Holyfield, Jones, Trinidad, periods up to the present, he is not qualified to compare them with the present day, and is automatically classed as a dodo, especially if he doesn't recognise Mayweather's "greatness".
You guys seem to not even realise that living through an era is incomparably greater than just looking at it on old videos. (I'll give you sub-normals a reason you may be able to understand)
When a person lives through an era, (and I'm talking about a past era when they had legitimate experts and loads of good solid commentators who had also lived through past eras) he doesn't just see a fight on TV and then read a couple of reports by at best, barely qualified reporters (compared to those who really made it their SOLE livlihood), he reads probably a dozen major newspaper reports by their own experts, as well as reading good analyses by top grade experts in about 5-6 major boxing magazines.
And he probably was able to see the fight at the time it took place.
There's just no comparison. A REAL fighter like Duran, if he takes it seriously would half kill a "scientist" like Mayweather before the fight was half over. When Mayweather elbowed, Duran would not only elbow back harder, but drop down a low body shot, a thumb or lace across the face during a face "hug", finished off by a solid combination which would cause Mayweather to wonder what the hell he'd got himself into......if he was still on his feet. And whilst he was considering it, Duran would already be back with much more. Duran had a record of 74-1 before losing to Leonard, after having partied for 3 of the previous 4 months, fought anybody and everybody never quibbled about an opponent or tried ro take an advantage like "you-know-who".
