It was the punishment that SRL put on him... i never debated that... I was just debating the fact that 8thsam was saying hearns wasnt tired,,,,

thats ludicrous,, hearns was tired and when SRL bombed on him in the 13th he couldnt recover like he did earlier in the fight when srl had rallied....

It was a war of attrition and SRL won,,, but people act like hearns wasnt gassed which is insane.......

Hearns was hit on the jaw and hurt, but a body shot put him down in the 13th. And the stoppage was a left hook to the head and body that ended the fight. Remember Sugar became the hunter in their fight which also sapped Hearns strength too.

agree with this. not sure why people are even upset with this lol. it doesnt take away from srls win at all. srl had great stamina which is a part of what made him so great along with his speed,,chin etc

The problem I have is Adam making excuses for Hearns by saying if Hearns wasn't gassed out he would've won. NO. So if Ray Leonard didn't throw the combos that hurt him, Hearns would've just tipped over from exhaustion anyways? NO.

If Hearns didn't get caught and wasn't getting battered around the ring the last 2 rounds he would've won.

Adam, the way that you were saying Hearns was gassed seemed as if you were taking something from Leonards win, and I know you probably weren't. It seemed that your pride kept this argument going. Hearns may have been tired, but he wasn't gassed. He was winning until he got caught. He never regained his composure because of the hurt Leonard put on him in round 13. Hearns was in great condition which is why he did not go down in rounds 6 and 7, but he was still hurt and gradually weakening.
