So Canelo gets no credit for making weight? What's your argument Budd, Trout weighed more than Canelo on fight night and what does this have to do with anything. The rules are the rules. Canelo competes at 154, Mayweather is telling him to go down to 152. Does this go as a win against 154 pounder or 152 pounder on Floyd's resume? So the first thing anyone should say about the Mayweather vs Canelo fight is that Mayweather fought a weight drained Canelo, same thing Mayweather said of Pacquiao weight draining Cotto, which is true!Comment

Mayweather is getting a lot of flak around here for the catchweight. Is that what you want? Because you can find a lot of threads talking about it. There's really not much of a way that Mayweather will receive a lot of credit if he beats Alvarez, because all the people who don't like him will point to the catchweight. We'll see how Alvarez looks on fight night, there is a chance the weight will bother him.Comment

Haha good one! Pacquaio went to 150 and Pacquiao is about the tiniest WW. Keith Thurman goes up and down. Same thing with Mosley. Josesito moved up to 154, Cotto is super small and he moved to 154.
Although I miss how Floyd is a small WW when he's had reach and height advantage in all of his fights at 140 and above except one.Comment

Now I don't even know what you're arguing. We were talking about Alvarez beating welterweights and junior welterweights and now you're talking about something entirely different.

If Canelo is not weight because of making weight it will be a really close fight that could go either way because Canelo is a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Yet, thanks to Mayweather and his insecurities we'll always have doubts if he faced the best Canelo.Comment

Floyd is an average sized WW. That's why I said what small to average size WW can compete at 154 and which ones are expected to. Manny has never fought at 154 and no one wants him to. Josesito can't compete there. He will never return to 154. Thurman is a big WW. Mosley is a solid example. Cotto isn't good at 154 and most people want to see him at 147 if it were possible. We'll go with Mosely and Cotto but neither guy was really required to move up while Floyd is required to by fans. Anymore examples?Comment

Canelo had a rough go at it with old cement footed Mosley. But he'll destroy RG and Ortiz???? Besides Lopez, he hasn't destroyed anyone since an Ancient Baldimir.
Did you really discredit every win Floyd had at WW? And you talk as if Floyd is a career long WW, he started at 130. When Hatton came up, FLoyd wasn't there very long himself. Hatton was his 3rd WW fight.
And Canelo is only 5'8" and started his career at WW so if he's having trouble at 154, then he won't have a long career because he's going to get torched by the taller men at 160.Comment
