What I'll be looking for in this fight:

#1 Pacs hand and foot speed. How much is left. He was still very fast with Marquez. Still impressive. Will it still be???

#2 Foot speed-Needs to really use the in-out, and the angles. The Cotto fight was his gold standard for this.

#3 Head movement-Actually his head movement was very good with Marquez despite the 2 right hands. Everyone remembers the right hand that put him to sleep. But I never hear discussion or comment about the 2nd round right hand.

#4 Will Pac get greedy again. He got greedy in the last one and got put under General Anesthesia.

#5 What happens when Rios lands a good right hand. Does Pac disentegrate or does he fire right back. This may be the most important thing to look for.


All 5 of the above need to be checked off as "Intact" before a discussion with Mayweather or even Marquez 5 can be seriously discussed.

at his best, Pac would get minimal credit for beating Rios
if he's able to win this, good for him, but please retire after

what's the pressure , he is fighting a lightweight that only fought twice at junior welter and got beat in his last outing at 140. rios has never fought at 147 b4 so I don't know what the fuss is about..

I am in complete agreement with these ideas. Manny fighting one more time with all possible advantages: got a fighter who has never fought at welter weight and only few months ago was a light weight and who is just coming from a defeat (same pattern used for long time). To make things worse he has choosen a guy tailored to his style meaning picking someone that is going to stand in front of him because it is well known that Pacman has problems with real boxers (technicians moving like Marquez). The only thing missing for this fight was requesing a catch-weight but since Brandon is coming from a lower division it couldn't be applied for this fight.

Pac always trying to impress the fans. I hope to see the OG Pac when he fights Rios. Bam Bam needs to work on more head and ring movement or else he might turn into a punching bag. A fight im still looking forward to still.

If Pac beats Rios he beat a low ranked 140 fighter coming off loss. Dont fool yourself

... but I'm sure you were fooled every time Floyd fights a "hand selected" opponent. Right? Let me know what Floyd's last opponent did at 140 and 147.

The last time I checked, they also have Khan ranked #2 WW just so they fool some people if Floyd "hand selects" him as a future opponent. All Khan has to do is beat one guy at WW and it's legit for Floyd fans ....
