Mayweather fought Ortiz because he came off a fight of the year performance against Berto and was Mexican. Why he fought Guererro, I still can't answer that question and due to the poor sales of that fight, I'm sure Floyd would have picked someone else if he could if he could go back in time.

But Soto? C'mon, Berto gave him everything he could handle with one ******** arm. Soto wouldn't win a round against Floyd. Pick another one, dude...

Are you being serious? How old are you? My guess is under 18. Mayweather would make Soto look like Guererro. Total mismatch. Mayweather doesn't get hit by guys like Soto. Guys like Berto get hit by guys like Soto, Guererro, and Ortiz.

some people seem to be under the impression that floyd searches out the toughest fighters and fights them. saying soto-karass would easily lose but not seeing that guerrero and ortiz would easily lose....this is what hype does to a seemingly normal brain. just scrambles it completely. if soto-karass was hyped up like ortiz or guerrero these same people would be backing a floyd fight.

Ortiz beat Berto when Berto was still undefeated and the #3 WW in line for a fight with Floyd.

I can't excuse Floyd for the Guererro fight. It wasn't very exciting when they announced it, and it certainly turned out to be a mismatch and PPV dud by Mayweather standards. My guess is that Floyd learned his lesson and won't be fighting dogs like Soto in the future. Soto vs. Guererro would be the best match for Soto, imo.
