Do you sometimes get 'punch fatigue' from too many punches being thrown in a fight?

I agree. It was the same round over and over again. Arakawa throwing a bunch of mostly ineffective punches, while Figueroa always landing all the hard and clean shots winning him the almost all the rounds. Arakawa surviving while still managing to to throw a 100 punches was awe inspiring and it was an impressive feat to behold, but when I think of fight of the year, I think of a competitive back and forth drama filled fight where any man is capable of winning at any point of the fight. This was mostly one sided and easy to score. I was honestly fatigued to a point where I fell asleep for a couple rounds. (I think 9 and 10) I'm sure watching it live would have been a completely different experience though.

Movies, books, tv shows, and comics all have pacing for a reason. Watching explosions every other minute isn't the most exciting thing to watch.

I agree. I know Showtime were trying to anoint it ATG status but honestly, it was the weakest fight of the night for me, though Arakawa deserves nothing but our respect for his amazing show of heart.

In order of excellence and watchability:

        1. Thurman vs Chaves
        2. JSK vs Berto
        3. Omar vs Arakawa.

I thought it was a great fight but i also got bored because they were both landing a lot of shots but none of them were going down. I still think it was a great fight.

In general I agree with "punch fatigue" but I was never bored by Figueroa-Arakawa. I was mesmerized by the chin, toughness, and sure will of Arakawa, who was clearly the inferior fighter in the ring. It's amazing because I thought he came in with the worst strategy ever from the first bell. And after a grizzly beating, he was still punching with decent snap and going for it in the final round! That's what you call giving it everything you have!

Could this be classified as a sustaining of pugilistica dimensia of viewers of the sport from actually watching the sport because of too much pugilistica? It's simply incredble, I'm writing to uncle sam for some funds so that I may follow up on this incredible hypothosis. If it indeed true, I shall name the condition Cupocity 303........... Rockin'

It's almost as if you'd rather prefer a slow-paced fight where any punch or combination being thrown can at least be an eye-catching finisher type punch..

It's the equivalent to a Pron movie with some girl on top and this aggressive male hunk thunder clapping his nuts into her vag, full power, for almost the entire movie without letting her ride it nice and smoothly. It's like, if you're not gonna let her show off her moves, just cum already and get it over with.

But i do see what you are saying. Its why for me Bradley Provodnikov is still the best fight of the year... Great storyline to the fight, contrasting styles and amazing action to go with it

if you got bored last night you're watching the wrong sport.

that fight was the definition of a war. figueroa stopped hurting japan, but that's because he broke / hurt both of his hands. japan was a steady rain. it might not look like much, but the guy threw close to 100 punches a round against a big puncher.

                    awesome fight.

I couldn't take my eyes off the TV, I cant see how anybody could get bored watching that fight. Both of them gave everything they had and put on an unbelievable fight. There is no pleasing some people I guess.
