Well, being Russian... it's hard to realize, those doubts and accusations are correct. However, I wouldn't trust a bit in German, Panamanian, Mexican and, well, American branches of WADA too. They can be seriously affected by some connections in my mind.

It would have been much more correct to call for an independent anti-drug agence in a country with a low level of prizefighting and a high level of scientific culture. For example, to use Swiss doctors and specialists.

You don't believe it one bit when Jones has a history of using the same substance?

It's fine to be skeptical, but the shady nature of the promotion doesn't mean that Jones didn't legitimately fail the test; I don't see why people have so much faith in Jones given his history of using Furosemide.

It's not that. Jones could've very well failed. We just don't know that many fighters who failed a test again using the same stuff that they were guilty of. If this fight was anywhere else, we'd be all over Jones. RUSADA did the testing. #Suspectcity

Wasn't there something about Don King wanting Jones taking the samples to be tested in the US too so as to prevent any funny business?

Edit: here we go, King has his own sample?

BoxingScene.com has spoken with both promoters, Vladimir Hryunov and Don King, who confirm that WBA cruiserweight champion Guillermo Jones (39-3-2, 31KOs) took a post-fight drug test following his eleventh round TKO of Denis Lebedev at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia. The Russian Anti-Doping Agency [cooperates with the World Anti-Doping Agency] handled the post-fight test. Regarding the confusion in the Russian media, there was a dispute between the two promoters regarding the handling of the post-fight test.

So we've got a RUSADA sample and a Don King sample, which do we trust?

Weight cutting agent is not that serious.
It's also used as a masking agent.

No I don't believe it, the whole promotion was shady as ****. But that's my opinion not yours.

Yeah Don King wanted the same sample that they took in Russia to be available to be tested by an independent laboratory in the USA, I did agree with that at the time of him asking, I was curious why the Russian try to deny him that request, I never follow the story up so I don't know if King was able to get that same sample after all. That would have confirm if Jones was indeed on furosemide.

Why would a sample have to be brought back when he can give it when he got back to the states?

I get the feeling there was some serious money riding on the outcome of this bout.

The only thing fishy about this fight was how Jones was able to absorb Lebedev's punches... Furosemide is also used as a masking agent for other drugs, which was probably the likely scenario.

Hopefully Jones gets caught here and has to return the belt.

Hopefully in the rematch Lebedev's team brings an endswell.
