golovkin may as well fight him. it's not as if he has many options now that murray doesn't seem interested. he'll continue to get good ratings on hbo no matter who he faces, and eventually it'll get so the others can't ignore him any longer.

Golovkin has a date set, November 2nd, at MSG, on HBO. In other words he can't fight "off network" in November. So who is he going to fight then? Martin Murray already **** tucked. Quillin is with a different network. Geale probably wants to milk his title after he beats Darren Barker.
Felix Sturm? That guy won't come near GGG in a million years.
Mora and Stevens are good options. Even if he has to fight them off HBO.Comment

The only problem is Sturm wants the winner and no doubt he'll shell out the money to get them to come there.
Hopefully HBO secures Geale/Macklin.
If Geale wins though, I could see him push for the fight to be in Australlia.
Would make sense though, he's a ticket seller there.Comment

I don't think Geale is much of a ticket seller on his own there. Sturm at some point was willing to offer him 500k, so he could well beat HBO's offer, plus a safer fightThe only problem is Sturm wants the winner and no doubt he'll shell out the money to get them to come there.

I heard he was making millions there and that his venues were always filled.
Dang.... well if Sturm offers that much.... I don't know if HBO will match it because you gotta pay both of them.
Honestly though... I see no reason why HBO couldn't match it.
They pay a million plus for other fighters all the time. Hell, Golovkin has shown he's a ratings guy. Split 1.4 million down the middle and both men would probably be happy. That's a little more than Rios got paid and less than Bradley.Comment

I heard he may have gotten that much for Mundine (a bit skeptical), but he was the B side there by far. You got any other examples?I heard he was making millions there and that his venues were always filled.

I guess since they're featuring Geale next, they'd probably be willing to go 500k or more, but not that much more. Rios is no comparison at all. 1.4m would probably do it, but so far GGG has cost them much less, that's a part of the appealComment

I doubt Golovkin would try and shoot up his price considering they want to host his last 2 fights on HBO. 700k a piece isn't bargain bin, but it's a hell of a deal to have this fight for the price of one star fighter.Comment
