If I know the OTNB mind as well as I think I do then I think I've pieced the puzzle they've tried to sell..

Apparently, when Ali was young and got knocked out by Cooper and struggled with Jones etc, he was young and inexperienced. Then he had a short undefeated against some bums where he was apparently "prime" even though he never fought a decent opponent. THEN, after his hiatus, he returned to fight bigger, better opponents and struggled badly, even though he was only 27 he was considered "done". But then he luckily defeated Foreman through unconventional means, which brought him back to the greatest. He went back to struggling and so was deemed not the same again, and so on. The pendulum swings

The best is combining the hard chinned strong Ali punch bag with the chinny but fast one as if they coexisted which never actually happened.

No he didn't. Only in your sorry mind.

He didn't rob Kenny Norton, the judges did. And yes, that could/should have gone for Norton. He beat Shavers - I suggest you watch the fight.

Vitali was beating on fools yes. Bums. The man beat 5 top 10 rated guys in his entire career of almost 50 fights. That's atrocious.

Smelling sets or no smelling salts, Ali bounced right back up after the knockdown. Not to mention those smelling salts were legal at the time. Not to mention Ali stopped Cooper the next round. Not to mention it was in 'Enry's own backyard as was the rematch. I this k its a bit out of line to say Ali cheated. And you should look into the actual time it took to fix the torn glove rather believing all the tall tales and just going with it.

I never understood why people feel the need to degrade great fighters to lift their own favorites up.

Isn't that exactly what is happening to accommodate past greats?

Granted I haven't read the entire thread, but I don't see anyone degrading VK. I seen many including must say he'd be a top fighter in any era. But when you look into his resume its not very good. You can say what you want about Ali, but its a given he's fought the best heavyweight comp in history. By distorting the facts of the Cooper fight isn't going to change that bruh.

Vitali is not ALLOWED to fight bums period, I can't think of any who wasn't either highly athletic and/or very heavy and who had a very clean record. Most were current/past/future champs.

Who gives a **** who robbed who the point is Ali LOST the series to Ken Norton!

He didn't even beat most of the decent fighters of his own era!

He DID lose to Shavers and Cooper and Young!
