    Top rank signs Denis Shafikov

    http://m.******.craveonline.com/blog...s-debut-aug-17

Shafikov is one of boxings best kept secrets IMO. I've been expecting him to Come to America for a few months now, he called out Broner before his last fight and his team said they're looking for a big fight. He's ranked #1 at 140 in one organization but moved down to 135 for his last fight.

He could be the top 135lber IMO and I imagine he will get a big figt by the end of this year.

I love that top rank is bringing over a lot of top European/Asian fighters lately. This year so far they have signed Khabib Allakhverdiev, evgeny Gradovich, Vasyl lomachenko and now Shafikov.

Top Rank are globalising. They are interested in signing DeGale too.

I love it. Great for the sport. And they're not just signing overhyped bums as some would call it.... The foreign fighters they're fighting are legit talents and have potential to be great/top fighters.

Shrewd from TR. They've all but lost the Sho-HBO war, so they've gone international. It's clever, because the 2012 Olympics were so huge it's unbelievable. The countries that win boxing medals are becoming way more affluent and their boxing publics seem to want American-style presentation in their boxing much more than they used to. Altogether it makes sense business-wise, even if it'll detract somewhat from the US being the home of boxing (which would make me sad).

And I know Shafikov's probably going to the US, but it was more in response to the last few comments.

Top Rank has had a severe shortage in talent lately so they are going the foreign rout to fill their stable.

The bad thing is that they will keep all these guys away from GBP/Showtime fighters such as Broner. Which means we won't see them in the matchups we want.

What? They didn't get banished from America's #1 boxing network, that was GBP.

How did they lose this supposed war?
Quality in fight wise yea, but that's just a personal victory instead of winning ratings and money wise
