He made a decison he thought was good at the time, they don't always turn out that way.

Regardless, all he has to do is get back to a goood weight for him and focus on fighting. He needs a great display next time out.

he tried to take the mayweather route and it backfired. people were mesmerized by floyd's speed and skills and overlooked his lackluster opposition and ducking. looks like most people aren't falling for it and aren't crowning gamboa the p4p best like they did to floyd.

Looking back, it does look like he's an idiot now. But on the other hand, we really don't know whether he really got scared of the thought of getting murked by Rios. But it was blown out of proportion considering Rios was a walking dead at that weight. It could have been most likely a decision. Ducking the fight at the last minute did damage to his already lackluster career.

No HE didn't make the decision. He allowed Mayweather to whisper in his ears about joining his new Promotion Co. Mayweather was just using him to embarrass Arum. Mayweather got Curtis Jackson to put up all the money for ongoing expenses, and when the time came for him to pay his share he reneged and left Jackson with the fledgling company, and the 3-4 boxers they'd signed. Jackson, to his credit , decided to carry on and take the load on himself.

Arum was left over a million out of pocket for the arranged press and TV shoots not to mention the enormous embarrassment of Gamboa walking out on a fight he's agreed to do. Also, Arum acceded to Gamboa's request that he have the major TV/press shoot in his home town Miami...... and then the day before, refused to turn up.

I don't think this all come from Gamboa's mind, he was being directed what to do....

Never but like in school if you hang out with the pot heads you must smoke weed is the consensus. And i agree with everything you said but he is a very young 30s fighter has never taken punishment his whole life was amateur and shows no decline just very ****ty decision making but still has time if he was to get a good trainer the ship is not completely sunk yet.

But nobody has fkd Gamboa over more than Gamboa ive been saying this for a while but then again what can you expect from guys who never made more than 100$ a month their whole lives ever i think for winning the Gold they get 300$ never had much need for financial or career advice lets put it that way, and he got taken down the wrong path took a chance not many would.
