The arrangement just doesn't make business sense as Garcia pointed out. They could have sold out another arena and still have it on the same PPV card. I believe Garcia-Matthysse by itself would exceed Floyd-Guerrero. Don't underestimate the number of knowledgeable boxing fans out there. And really and truly, which fight now has the more anticipation?

lol you are misinformed and delusional.... there is no way Garcia-Matthysse would've exceeded any Mayweather fight let a lone Mayweather-Canelo. Canelo has a bigger fan base than both fighters combined. 600-700k would've been a huge success for Garcia-Matthyse, and it's still would be substantially lower than a Mayweather-Canelo fight with a crappy undercard.

That being said, this is a HUGE opportunity for Garcia and Lucas to become a PPV draw if they win in an exciting fashion. Which will mean they will be lined up for Mayweather and it's a win win situation for both.

Its a great move by Golden Boy. Yes they could put that fight on its own card. But why not show it to the PPV crowd? If its a great fight, they can do a PPV rematch next year or the winner becomes a star and is in line for a Floyd payday depending on what happens in the main event...

But I guarantee, YOU will be glued to the screen when Floyd and Canelo step in the ring. You can try and try to knock Floyd for actually knowing how to box, but you won't stop watching him. You my friend, are a closet fan.
