Quite apart from respect, people really, really like this guy. Not sure whether it's the slightly absurd speed/chub combination or his style (probably the former) but if he beats Hanks (and I think he will) then the ball that is Andy Ruiz Jr. is gonna start rollin'

Andy Ruiz is a classic example of bad genetics. He will never look like Klitchko no matter how hard he works, and he works really hard.

He has lost a ton of weight and trains hard, he's just not blessed with good genes.

this guy got so fat it will effect the rest of his career. no amount of diet and exercise will eliminate all of that loose skin.

he's also a great example of what it looks like when you get f#cking obese in your 20's from sitting around and eating too much. this guy started his career at three f#cking bills.

Maybe but he's a pro boxer now, and a good one. Respect to people who fight for a living.

He will win a lot of fans with a body like that, just like that fat boy heavyweight in the UFC
Top Rank sign this guy but don't show interest in Usyk. I understand why but its sad.

There is truth to that but it doesn't excuse him being obese. Regardless of genetics no human being is supposed to have 80lbs of excess fat on them.

he'd be a club fighter at best in a decent HW era. he's a fat guy fighting other fat guys. does he get respect for risking his health? yes. he's still fat. his opponents are still sh#T. as with arreola, he needs to lose a ton of weight for me to take him seriously.

he started out at 300 bills, but he's stagnated at approx 250. that is not a dedicated athlete. genetics aren't responsible for a keeping a professional boxer straight up obese. not everybody is going to be ken norton, but we can't blame fatness brought on by YEARS of lounging and overeating on genetics alone. if this guy were dedicated in the gym, and more importantly the kitchen, he wouldn't look like that.

just look at him. it's disgusting. why would a network that charges people $20 a month want to air that guy?

I like the dude and he's talented but why support a guy that won't support hiself? That's what you're doing everytime you support a guy that shows up fat for a professional sport that ain't Sumo wrestling.

He's losing it though and has lost 50lbs, that's no small feat.

Well that's your opinion and I'm not in the business of predicting the future by calling someone's career before it even takes off.

I don't think you understand much about genetics, people still don't understand that not everyone (even with hard work) is going to have a chiseled body.

Take Juan Diaz for example, I have never seen anyone work as hard in the gym, yet he had all that "baby fat" on him. He would spar 20 rounds in the gym, run 10 miles without stopping and have a great diet and still couldn't get ripped.

There are different body types and conditioning has nothing to do with what you look like.

I don't know what Ruiz is or isn't doing in the gym. What I do know is that he reportedly works hard, has lost close to 60lbs and has very good skills. I respect people who do that and box for a living because I did the same and it's a ridiculously hard way to make a living.
