You couldn't be any more wrong.

Mosley is getting high profile fights because of his name but nobody is saying "oh you beat Shane...now you're ready for title contention." If Cano would have beat Mosley its not like he would've made the crossover or we would've taken him more seriously at all.

He's a badly faded world champion. Not a true test for an upcoming, hungry fighter that we can say is ready for a title shot. Beating Shane does not prove that anymore.

So Shane is not a gatekeeper.
