Oba Carr, Yori Boy Campas, Juan LaPorte.

Carr is the most obvious one cause I don't think he ever won a championship.

Zab is a former undisputed World Champion. I don't care what he does from here on out....gatekeeper doesn't apply to him. As he declines he becomes a faded world champion.
True gatekeepers are the ones that seperate the true contenders from the pretenders.
Kinda agree. Some people these days are considering ex champs and stars gatekeepers.. Gatekeepers never reached the staus of champion or had a run as champ. The are used as a measuring stick for the ones who are attempting to. Berto as hyped up as he was,had alot of wins against overmatched or passed prime boxers. But, everytime he stepped up he lost. The collazo fight should of been his first loss. He comes to mind as a gatekeeper.

MOSLEY? ARE YOU KIDDING? Mosley beat Oscar, ****d Margacheato "the most feared guy" (at the time), ko'd vargas x2,
and SSM at lw was a real monster. Mosley has held world titles in three weight divisions, having held the IBF lightweight title, Lineal, WBC, & WBA(Super) welterweight titles, and Lineal, WBC, WBA(Super), & The Ring light-middleweight titles.

              THATS NOT A GATEKEEPER

Zab I'd say is it exactly. He's a talented fighter who can fight the best, but doesn't always win...but he normally doesn't lose to B level fighters. He keeps the lower guys out of championship fights...that's what a gate keeper is. He's on the bubble and his fight vs Garcia he showed renewed life imo. I think he'll continue to be THE guy to beat to earn your shot for a bit more.

He's an established world champ, but now he's the bench mark for becoming one. Faded world champ, but I'd say he's a gate keeper because he fights top guys or possible world champions at a decent rate. Most faded world champs are used as names / tune-ups for a big fight....Judah I feel is more gatekeeper ish where you might not beat him but he's your way in.

i think of Orlando Salido as a gatekeeper in boxing. He has many loses, he gets all of the big fights against the guys that are trying to prove themselves in the division. He has many characteristics if a journeyman. Demarcus Corley is another one.
