In your eyes who is the quintessential "Gate Keeper"???

I'd say any high level gate keepers depending on what they did coming into the fight could still be a decent or solid win (Judah, Berto) and even some of the mid level gate keepers would be considered decent wins still (Ponce, Gonzalez, Bika,).

Mid level gate keeper would be Sakio Bika, Johonny Gonzalez, Josesito Lopez, Jesus Soto Karass, Delvin Rodriguez, Vic Darchinyan, and I could see Ponce becoming one.

Low level gate keeper would be someone like Alfonso Gomez, Chop Chop Corley, Selcuk Aydin.

This is a pretty good post but in true boxing circles "World Champions" no matter what level aren't considered "Gatekeepers." They have made it. They crossed over.

Zab is a former undisputed World Champion. I don't care what he does from here on out....gatekeeper doesn't apply to him. As he declines he becomes a faded world champion.
True gatekeepers are the ones that seperate the true contenders from the pretenders.

Keith Thurman got a big test this weekend against another undefeated knockout artist Diego Chaves. I am looking forward to this fight most defnitely...

Also don't sleep on Guerrero he is not that easy for most fighters.

Yeah I look forward to that fight too.

The thing about Guerrero is he's very hittable with average speed.. and he has below average power. Not Malignaggi level but still the guy doesn't really have pop. He's just depending on his heart and chin and his inside tactics on a guy.. (holding and hitting, roughhouse tactics, ect). He goes against a KO artist with equal chin and heart to his and more power... The guy is gonna get knocked out.

He goes against someone that can move, tie up, and has decent output.. and hes gonna get outboxed.

Thurman, Chino, Devon.. all beat Ghost.

This is a good one. I feel him and Jesus Soto Karass are the most notable ones right now.

I'll add more when I think of it. My definition of a gatekeeper is someone at the highest level, just the lowest point of it. Below gatekeeper would be European level, after gatekeeper is contender > champion > tha boss.

So with that being said, fighters beaten only by champions aren't really gatekeepers in my eyes. They'd be the sort of fighters who lose to both champions and contenders but still display a certain level in these fights and still spring the odd upset. DeMarcus Corley is a great example.
