In your eyes who is the quintessential "Gate Keeper"???

i think of Orlando Salido as a gatekeeper in boxing. He has many loses, he gets all of the big fights against the guys that are trying to prove themselves in the division. He has many characteristics if a journeyman. Demarcus Corley is another one.

Orlando Salido had many of his losses come very early in his career. He's probably top 5 featherweight right now, especially with Mikey Garcia possibly moving up in weight. But yes, Demarcus Corley is the ultimate gatekeeper.

Soto Karass is being molded into a gatekeeper at 147 now, and at 140, there are two gatekeepers. First gatekeeper is Corley, beat him than you move onto fighting B level opponents, then Zab is the gatekeeper for the elite opponents.

Also Arreola looks like the gatekeeper in HW, Sakio Bika at 168 (yes i know he technically holds a belt but still), Anthony Mundine, Randall Bailey, Kermit Cintron, Ponce de leon at featherweight possibly soon.

I wouldn't really call a champion/contended ( Cotto, Malignaggi, Judah tier fighters) gate keepers. Sport's gatekeepers are the likes of Katsidis, Corley, Gomez.

Yes that's true, but Salido is still a gatekeeper to me because he gets fights with the Hot names in the division, and his career is based off of losing his big fights (besides lopez)
